Unfortunately, you cannot write a "Hit Song". What you can do though is to write a "song". To become a hit, you must have distribution and airplay. This is a bit easier nowadays as you can put it on Myspace, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. These will help you reach a wide audience. Its this wide audience that will decide whether or not the song is a "Hit". If the majority of them like it and purchase it, then you have your hit.
you write it with a piece of paper and a pencil or if your really into technology you can type it & if you want it to be a hit song and get famous off of it, it needs to be really good, have a good beat, and be catchy.

You could hum or tunes into a tape recorder and compose that way writing the words later and then working the final arrangement out with the group you form. Can you play any instruments?

It needs to be catchy, and be able to be heard by a wide audience. There are so many songs online that are about nothing, but they are catchy so people listen to them. GL
