Any tips on songwriting for someone who has books full of lyrics but has trouble singing and arrangement?

Take a song with a rhythm you like and just change the words to fit your lyrics. I do it all the time. Just try to keep the number of words the same in each line or when you're trying to sing it to yourself it will get messy.
