every song idea holds multiple keys to many doors. sometimes choosing which door to try first is tough. if you’re not sure if you like something you’ve written, tweak it. change the tempo, reconsider the melody, change accents. some of my favorite songs that i’ve written started out sounding completely different than the final product. good luck!

well with the lyrics part of the song writing, it should have a meaning that’s special to you. something or someone your passionate about, feelings or opinions you want to express, or even some inner pan or anger you want to let out. that’s the amazing part of music. you write what you feel.

try to interact with your senses and use them. try to write a your thoughts or anything with a provoking meaning. also, a little tip: I write better when it’s raining, at night or when I’m outside. try to use idioms and metaphors and be articulate as can be without sounding too emo-ish.

I find there are no real tips to write songs that mean something to you….sure you can get tips on how to write songs that mean nothing and are just there, but to write those special songs you just gotta let it all come out naturally…

Well that’s what I think, just sit down and play random chords together until you get a good sound then hum a melody and put lyrics to the melody…

easier said then done though…

A original chord progression isn’t something easy to come up with IMO. To get everything together, make yourself an order that you’ll go in so that everything matches together. After you write your lyrics, make a melody. Whatever key thats in, add a progression to it. Then make a bassline that matches towards the chords. It’ll sound pretty together like that I think..
